Connie Diiamond – Breathe

Kickstarting another era of elite East Coast rap, rising Bronx spitter Connie Diiamond unleashed her new album, Underdog Szn 2, out now via Def Jam Recordings. Connie now shares a new visualizer for her focus single “Breathe.” Directed by Gerard Victor and shot in the Telfar Flagship store in NYC.

She makes a statement with the robust 20-track body of work, alternating between hard-hitting bars and unshakable hooks. Her uncompromising and undeniable flow drives the single “Breathe” as Connie’s punchy verses go for a knockout on the chorus, “I’ll let you know when you can breathe.” Elsewhere, Jersey club-style drums set the tempo for “Munyon,” seamlessly complementing her dynamic, albeit deadly delivery. Then, there’s “Last Laugh.” Ominous piano accents her braggadocios boasts as she teases, “Let’s go to the bank and see who has the last laugh.” The ride concludes with “Head Up,” which illuminates another side of the rapper altogether. She gets real about the trials and tribulations in the rearview that made her who she is today.

Of course, Underdog Szn 2 also sees her shine alongside everyone from Cash Cobain and Dusty Locane to Remy Ma.

She bulldozed the way for the project with “JAT” attracting Stunna Sandy on the remix. Underdog Szn 2 also houses the engaging and open-hearted “Letter To My Fans.”

At the end of 2024, she served up Underdog Szn: BRB, which boasted an A-list cohort of guests such as Remy Ma, Cash Cobain, Joe Budden, Don Q, and more. Moreover, “Shoot” graced the soundtrack for NBA 2K24, and BET selected her as its BET Amplified for March. She also performed at the 2024 BET Awards Red Carpet Live Preshow. Among many accomplishments, Connie has notched major co-signs from the likes of NBA superstar LeBron James, who marveled at her viral Ludacris-sampled freestyle in 2023. The rapper then made waves with the release of her debut LP, Underdog SZN, featuring Dame D.O.L.L.A., Don Q, and more.
