Towa Bird – Your Girl
Today, acclaimed alt-rock/pop artist Towa Bird returns with her triumphant new single “Your Girl” via The Core /Interscope.
The Hong Kong-born singer/songwriter’s first new music in over a year will also appear on the official soundtrack to season two of Netflix’s Emmy-nominated rom-com Nobody Wants This (due out 10/23).
Produced by Patrick Wimberly (MGMT, Kid Cudi, Blood Orange), “Your Girl” orbits around Towa’s transcendent guitar work — an element previously showcased on her powerhouse debut album American Hero (released via Interscope Records in June 2024). In bringing the euphoric and self-assured track to life, the Los Angeles-based musician co-wrote alongside Wimberly, singer/songwriter Reneé Rapp, Julio Tavarez, and Annie Schindel, telling the tale of a messy love triangle with a happy twist.
Propelled by a potent staccato riff and fiercely pounding drums, “Your Girl” arrives as a combustible piece of alt-pop drenched in dreamlike textures and gorgeously soaring melodies as her vocals shift from playfully taunting to achingly sincere. In the song’s final moment, the 26-year-old rising star shows the full force of her singular musicality, layering the track with a glorious barrage of hypnotic guitar tones. Revealing the cinematic power of Towa’s songwriting and sound, “Your Girl” was chosen to close out a pivotal scene in the eighth episode of the new season of Nobody Wants This — a binge-ready smash hit about an unconventional romance between an agnostic sex podcaster (played by Kristen Bell) and a newly single rabbi (played by Adam Brody).
