Jess Hayward – Forever Evergreen

Emerging indie-pop artist Jess Hayward unveils her latest single, “You’re Evergreen” via APOLLO Distribution, a sweet and shimmering love song that captures the feeling of finding the kind of love you’ve always dreamed of.
Drawing on her signature blend of beachy indie-pop charm and timeless, jazz-inflected warmth, Hayward offers a refreshing sonic escape filled with hope.
Speaking on the story behind “You’re Evergreen”, Hayward shares; “The song is about finally finding a love that makes you feel enough when that’s all you’ve ever wanted. It’s just about having to fully trust yourself and the other person to not break your heart because you’re all in. It’s honestly about being able to breathe again. I know that sounds so deep but when all you’ve ever known is messy you think that all you can ever get but then turns out it’s not.”
At its heart, “You’re Evergreen” is a poetic celebration of love – the kind that stays lush, vibrant, and full of life no matter the season. With tender lyricism and a captivating melodic sensibility, Hayward uses the evergreen metaphor to mirror not only the constancy of love but also the evolving journey of her own musical path.
I am a 23 year old singer/songwriter from the Philippines but grew up split between Filipino and British culture. I started taking singing seriously during the pandemic because it actually forced me to actually be alone and not just push something away. It started off as a tool to help with my confidence but now it’s something that has become a part of me. I just really love to sing and write songs even if they are really bad. It’s just a way to actually express my feelings because for some reason I cannot communicate on a daily basis.
