Your Mate’s Ex – Get Wet

Manchester’s newest party-starters Your Mate’s Ex are back, and they’re diving headfirst into 2000’s dance nostalgia with ‘Get Wet’ via APOLLO Distribution, a punchy track with shout-along cheer chants and tons of fun.
The song is the next taste of their upcoming debut EP, showcasing the euphoric, nostalgic sound they’ve shaped through late nights and life in their 20s in Manchester.
With the track’s hook “get wet, reset, do it again” the track is a rallying cry for dusting yourself off, dropping the ego, and getting on with it. Recorded in a Manchester studio (apartment), ‘Get Wet’ sits somewhere in the sludge of bloghouse, indie sleaze and head kandi classics – it’s a rallying cry for the idgaf war.
The track captures everything fans love about the band – euphoric, DIY, and a refusal to take things too seriously – where sweaty dancefloors collide with infectious, electro-pop hooks.
Building on the buzz from Radio 1 backing and a spot on BBC Introducing Leeds’ ‘Best of the Year So Far’, Your Mate’s Ex are fast becoming one of the North’s most exciting genre-blurring acts. With ‘Get Wet’, they’re inviting everyone to let loose and dance off any worries.
