Ella Eyre – hell yeah

One of the UK’s most talented and distinctive voices, Ella Eyre, unveils her huge, brash new single “hell yeah”, taken from her forthcoming second studio record everything, in time – out November 21 via Play It Again Sam.
A track born during a time under her previous label, Ella takes on a familiar, defiant all-guns-blazing attitude in a retro soul-tinged song that finds itself lyrically-conflicted between the head and the heart. “hell yeah” quite simply boasts one of Ella Eyre’s biggest choruses to date.
“‘hell yeah’ has been a fan-favorite for a while and I’m SO happy it’s finally time to share it”, states Ella. “It’s an upbeat, fun depiction of a wilder time in my early twenties when leading with my head and not my heart was a humorous battle. We’ve all been there when we can’t resist something, and this song is a punchy reminder to not let our occasional questionable choices weigh us down. I can’t wait to sing this one loud with the crowd on my tour in December.”

“hell yeah” arrives off the back of superb recent releases including “red flags & love hearts”, bolshy breakup anthem “space”, “high on the internet” (ft. Jay Prince), a searing indictment of digital burnout and online illusion, “domino szn”, a silky soul-pop banger oozing with confidence and control, & the elegant, mature “kintsugi”.
A decade after her Top 4 debut Feline and countless high-octane collaborations, Ella finally unveils a body of work that is as unfiltered, fearless, and fully-formed as she is. A self-curated collection of 15 songs, everything, in time sees the London-born powerhouse step into a sound that is rooted in rich soul, bold R&B, retro funk, and emotional truth.
After a vocal surgery during lockdown forced her to literally relearn how to speak, Eyre emerged with a clearer sense of self. She parted ways with her former label, took her masters, and started again. everything, in time is the result. “There was a moment when I just said, ‘This doesn’t feel right – scrap it all,’” she recalls of an earlier iteration of the album.
The road to everything, in time, was far from linear. Signed at 17, Eyre’s early career was a whirlwind of chart hits and dance collaborations, often leaving her own vision on the sidelines. Now 31, she has not only reclaimed her narrative but reshaped her future.
With everything, in time, Ella Eyre not only reminds us that she’s still here – she proves she never left. This album is both a culmination and a fresh start: a bold declaration from one of British music’s most resilient and recognisable voices.
There’s been a lot of stop-start with my career,” Eyre explains honestly. “It keeps me up at night. But this album feels like something I’m really proud of. And the biggest cliches are sometimes the deepest truths: Good things come to those who wait. And even though it’s taken a long time to get to this place, I’m really proud of where I’m at.”
