Peggy – Coming Of Age

PEGGY unveils her highly anticipated EP, COMING OF AGE, a six-track collection that captures the messy, magical, and deeply relatable transition into adulthood. With honesty, wit, and an eye for storytelling, PEGGY continues to prove herself as a bold new voice in pop music.

The project’s focus track, “Written By a Woman,” is a standout moment of reflection and reclamation. Built on clever lyricism and a sharp emotional core, “Written By a Woman” expands PEGGY’s exploration of love and perspective.

PEGGY shares, “Written by a Woman is like my song LOVE’s older sister. It plays with similar themes concerning avoidant attachment styles and the way romance novels have affected my expectations and standards within the dating world. The older I get the more I’ve come to realize that people are people and men aren’t ‘written by a woman’.”

The concept for the “Written By a Woman” video was inspired by the novel The Knight and the Moth. PEGGY was drawn to its symbolism of falling for the idea of a knight, only to regret it once the illusion fades and the helmet comes off—a theme that mirrors the EP’s broader exploration of confronting reality, identity, and the expectations we carry into adulthood.

Today’s release, COMING OF AGE is a deeply personal body of work born from a period of transformation. PEGGY explains:

“COMING OF AGE is a collection of songs that I wrote the year I finished college and moved across the country to LA. It explores mental health themes and the experience of feeling like an alien in adult world. Sometimes I wake up and I feel like everyone around me is in on this big inside joke that I don’t understand that leads to life experiences I haven’t had. This EP explores that mentality and all that comes with it.”

Across its tracks, PEGGY touches on themes of anxiety, identity, relationships, and resilience, blending tenderness with biting humor. From the cathartic guitar-driven “Panic Attack” to the imaginative “Build a Boy,” each song stands as a chapter in her story of self-discovery.
