MEGA – I Am Enough

Mega by Chantal Azari

Rising singer-songwriter MEGA, aka Megaishername, is a rare artist whose voice and songwriting seem to connect with our souls. Released today, the British-Ugandan artist’s fourth EP, I Am Enough, is a stunning and assured work that urges us to reclaim our power and step into life with a renewed sense of purpose.

 I Am Enough

In the period before she began writing these new songs, MEGA realised she had lost herself in the quagmire of the music industry, her identity slowly stripped away by the very people who were supposed to lift her up. With I Am Enough, it was as though she was writing herself out of that situation, creating new chapters through which she could reconnect with her sense of self and feel empowered once more, to choose her own path.

While her latest single, “My Bones,” may sit as the EP centrepiece,  each of the five songs on I Am Enough feels like an equally important storytelling moment.

Opener “Change” stops, resets, and refreshes the atmosphere beginning with the subtle defiance of a buoyant acoustic guitar hook, MEGA’s voice golden and dreamy in tone, layered to create subtle interwoven textures.

Built on a foundation of minimalistic percussion and shimmering strings, the title track “I Am Enough” is raw, yet refined.

The universal mantra —a proud declaration of inner strength and emotional grounding. This leads the listener to the aforementioned “My Bones”, MEGA’s victory lap filled with fiery feminine power pulses with sun-kissed guitar riffs, djembe bass tones, and a soulful brass section. A celebration of MEGA’s Ugandan heritage, the Frank Mugerwa (Frank Jah) directed video, which has already received over 97k views, feels like the perfect visual companion piece.

Sung in a gorgeous, melismatic croon, “Roots” gently explores themes of home and belonging, and shows how, in times of adversity, we’ll find our truth in where we’re from.

The EP closes with “Fail As Me”, a moving reflection on authenticity and artistic integrity.

Together, these chapters form MEGA’s most assured work yet, urging listeners to own their story, embrace change, and reconnect with the truths that make them whole.

“One of the most important lessons I’ve learned through creating this project is that fear grows with inaction, but action is what cures it. Over time, I lost touch with myself – caught in environments that I now recognise as toxic, spaces that were slowly stripping away my identity.

This EP, I AM ENOUGH, is a reflection of my journey back to myself. It’s about taking intentional steps to reclaim my power and now standing firmly in it. The phrase “I am enough” holds deep meaning for me- it’s about self-worth, self-realisation, and the understanding that I am deserving of love and respect exactly as I am.

I think of this EP like a small book, with each song representing a chapter of my story—a story of remembering my power and owning it. The journey begins with CHANGE, a bold first step into transformation, followed by I AM ENOUGH, MY BONES, ROOTS, and finally FAIL AS ME, which closes the project.

By the time I finished creating this EP, I felt truly liberated. My hope is that anyone who listens to it feels that same sense of freedom and empowerment—to be more honest, more true, more connected, more free, and more unapologetically themselves.

You are enough in all your mess, in all

your beauty, and even in your brokenness. Your uniqueness is your

Superpower.”
