Bre Kennedy – The Alchemist

Bre Kennedy by Tabitha Turner

Nashville-based singer-songwriter Bre Kennedy announces her highly anticipated fourth studio album The Alchemist, set for release on January 30.

 The Alchemist,

The announcement arrives alongside the release of her dreamy new single “Willow.”

Bre describes The Alchemist as her most vulnerable and grounded work yet. “I feel the most grounded and at peace with who I am with this record,” she says.

Shaped by personal reckoning and quiet bravery, The Alchemist threads moments of joy and sorrow into an intentionally crafted map home. The album features previously released singles “Baby Blue,” “Idiot,” and “Good Grief,” alongside the new track “Willow.”

Bre visualizes “Good Grief” and “Willow” as sister songs, “two sides of the same coin,” where she “lets sadness and joy exist in equal measure, holding a mirror to the subtle dualities of daily life.”

Created in collaboration with a trusted group of co-writers, including Ben West (Stephen Wilson Jr, Kacy Hill), Collin Pastore, and Jake Finch (Lucy Dacus, ASHE, boygenius), Micah Tawlks (Hayley Williams, Brook & The Bluff, Lone Bellow), Cheyanne (DASHA), the album balances intimacy with expansive storytelling. “I couldn’t keep having the same party,” Bre reflects on her creative shift. “Knowing there was something deeper within myself meant I had to be brave enough to go looking for it.”

At the heart of The Alchemist lies Bre’s commitment to finding beauty in life’s hardest places and taking autonomy in our stories. “We can’t choose what cards we were dealt, but we have the pen in our hands now to write what happens next.”
