Katelyn Tarver – Strange Weather

Katelyn Tarver by Phil Chester & Sara Byrne

Acclaimed alt-pop singer-songwriter and actress Katelyn Tarver returns with her new single “Strange Weather” via Nettwerk.

The track offers another vibrant glimpse of her forthcoming album, slated for a Spring 2026 release.

On “Strange Weather,” Tarver leans into the exhilarating messiness of human emotion, colliding heartbreak with hope in a way that feels both raw and uplifting. The track swells into an ascending pop chorus as she belts: “Feel the rain in the sun / It’s everything all at once / And it’s getting worse but it’s getting better / Strange weather.” It’s a rallying cry for embracing contradictions—where grief and joy crash against each other, and healing reveals itself as chaotic, non-linear, and ultimately transformative.

Speaking about the single, Tarver shares: “A vivid metaphor for living in the unknown, ‘Strange Weather’ captures the unpredictable emotional storms that come with change. Like shifting weather, the highs and lows are wild and uncharted—sometimes overwhelming, sometimes freeing—but always a journey into the unfamiliar. It’s about learning to navigate the chaos when nothing feels certain.”

Fresh off her North American tour supporting Big Time Rush, Tarver will rejoin the band this November for the European leg of their IN REAL LIFE WORLDWIDE tour. Beyond music, Tarver continues to expand her creative footprint with a recurring role in the highly anticipated upcoming Netflix golf comedy series, starring Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon, set to premiere in 2026.

“Strange Weather” follows her two 2025 singles – the heartbreak ballad “Don’t Eat Pray Love” and fiery “#1,” further establishing Tarver’s ability to turn deeply personal moments into resonant, cathartic pop anthems.
