Roe – Oakwood

Today, genre-blending singer, songwriter, and producer ROE releases her long-awaited EP, Oakwood — a rich and deeply personal body of work that marks a new era in her artistry and firmly positions her as one of R&B’s most compelling new voices.

Alongside the full project, she unveils the high-energy single “Pull Up (Drop)”, an irresistible track that blends nostalgic party vibes with modern femme energy.
The record features a bold flip of a legendary Fatman Scoop shout-out sample — transforming it into a bouncy, empowering anthem that’s as fun as it is unforgettable.
With Oakwood, ROE delivers her most confident and sonically adventurous project to date. Rooted in the duality of her upbringing in Venice, California — and inspired by the rich Black history of the Oakwood neighborhood — the EP fuses R&B, hip-hop, and alt-pop into a sound that’s entirely her own. It’s a love letter to identity, freedom, femininity, and the ever-evolving spirit of Los Angeles.
The project showcases ROE’s emotional depth and musical range through standout records. “Stay” opens with a silky, emotional reflection on longing and romantic vulnerability, revealing her gift for intimate storytelling.
“In My Skin” follows as a powerful anthem of self-love and personal growth, encouraging listeners to embrace every version of themselves.
The EP closes with “Love You Now” — a sensual, slow-burning R&B cut produced by Ric Rude, layered with sultry vocals and hypnotic melodies that leave a lasting impression.
Each track builds on ROE’s narrative of honest storytelling and cultural connection — where softness and strength coexist, and where classic soul sensibilities meet future-forward sound. ROE shares “Oakwood is a love letter to my Hometown in Venice, CA. It’s love, it’s community, family and resilience. It’s new nostalgia, oldies and goodies. It’s absolutely everything and I’m so excited to share.”
With Oakwood, ROE not only honors where she’s from — she expands what’s possible for women in R&B today. The result is a project that’s bold, raw, and deeply rooted in both nostalgia and next-gen energy.
