Jenevieve – Crysalis

Rising Alternative R&B star Jenevieve is officially back. Following her return with a pair of singles in “Head Over Heels” and “Haiku” this year, the genre-blurring artist has announced her upcoming new album, CRYSALIS, is arriving on August 8th.

With the album, Jenevieve is signaling a bold new phase in her artistic evolution.

Alongside today’s announcement, fans can pre-order CRYSALIS and stream the title track, available now. “Crysalis” serves as the album opener and sets the tone for the eclectic ride listeners will embark on with the album.

The album’s official trailer opens with the singer clutching a necklace before the camera zooms out to reveal her and executive producer Elijah Gabor inside an apartment, offering fans a cinematic glimpse into her world.

Jenevieve got the ball rolling in May when she dropped “Haiku,” a heartfelt track that VIBE called “sweet and endearing— something R&B needs more of.” She turned up the heat the following month with her hypnotic “Head Over Heels,” an ode to the dizzying highs of love with several viral posts on social media. Both songs were accompanied by striking visuals that amplified the respective narratives.

Jenevieve first captivated audiences in 2020 with her breakout hit “Baby Powder,” which has since surpassed 175 million global streams. Her 2021 debut project, DIVISION, and 2022 follow-up EP, RENDEZVOUS, earned widespread critical acclaim.
