Sophie Powers – spiderwebs

Sophie Powers by Kim Moondog

One of today’s most exciting rising voices, Sophie Powers has shared her bold, grungy new single “spiderwebs.”

Arriving on the heels of her latest release, “muddy,” the track expands Sophie’s dark-pop-laced universe with a hypnotic energy that’s as eerie as it is addictive. Spinning a vulnerable tale, “spiderwebs” captures the push-and-pull of an abusive relationship where breaking free feels impossible.

“Years of abuse don’t happen overnight. They creep in slowly, built through lies, control, and manipulation until you no longer recognize yourself. My song ‘spiderwebs’ is about being a victim of that kind of abuse. For years, I was trapped in a toxic relationship, caught in a web that only got tighter the more I tried to escape. One moment, I felt free. The next I was powerless,” Sophie commented.

She continued, “The chorus says it best: ‘I’m trapped in spiderwebs made from things you said and promised.’ The video mirrors that reality. I was tangled in a web, fighting to break free, tearing it apart piece by piece, the same way I had to tear myself away. Because abuse doesn’t just wound you, it consumes and destroys everything around you. This song is my way of breaking that cycle. It’s for anyone who has ever felt the weight of abuse or is still living in it. I want them to know they are not alone. The darkness doesn’t last forever. You can break free. You can transform. You are a butterfly.”

At just 21-years-old, Sophie has established an undeniable presence not only as a venerated pop singer/songwriter, but as an innovative fashion designer, sought-after collaborator, and dynamic live performer. In addition to garnering 80M+ global streams, landing high-profile collaborations with Grimes, Dillon Francis, Baby Tate, Harajuku streetwear brands ACDC RAG and Gloomy Bear, and executing powerful live shows supporting YUNGBLUD, Peaches, and Waterparks, Sophie has also become a songwriter to watch in the K-Pop market. She’s teamed up with girl group giants IVE and ILLIT.
