Pacifica – In Your Face!

Pacifica

Today, LA-based Argentine duo Pacifica share their sophomore album In Your Face! via TAG (The Orchard), a record that turns recklessness into revelation.

Fueled by jagged guitars, sardonic charm, and the electric push-pull between best friends Inés Adam and Martina Nintzel, the album captures what it means to feel everything too loudly, and love doing it anyway.

The focus track, “Indie Boyz,” is Pacifica at their most unfiltered: a tongue-in-cheek confessional built for the blurry hours after last call.

Anchored by punchy drums and a swaggering bassline, the song recalls the adrenaline of fleeting crushes and nights spent chasing noise instead of clarity. “It’s not poetry, just vibes,” the duo shares. Yet, between the distortion and deadpan delivery, “Indie Boyz” becomes something sharper: a mirror held up to the chaos of youth, equal parts satire and self-recognition.

“‘Indie Boyz’ started as a joke,” says Adam. “We were describing a week where we were out almost every night – just pure overstimulation – but somehow it became one of the truest songs we’ve written. It’s about wanting to feel alive even when you know you’re making a mess.”

Freak Scene2

If their 2023 debut Freak Scene introduced Pacifica as the post-punk pen pals who made angst sound anthemic, In Your Face! reveals a band unafraid to turn the camera inward. Across thirteen tracks, the duo ricochet between lust and guilt, bravado and collapse, their lyrics disarming in their honesty and humor. “Fixer Upper” revisits a toxic relationship with biting self-awareness; “Just No Fun” admits to chasing drama for entertainment’s sake; “Gravity” ends in defiance, masking heartbreak with a grin. The result is a portrait of modern love in all its contradictions: messy, funny, and vividly alive.

In Your Face! leans into contrast: glossy and raw, intimate and explosive. It channels the sunburned swagger of HAIM and the sharp wit of Wet Leg, but never feels like imitation. Instead, Pacifica inhabit a world of their own: a friction-fueled friendship that thrives on tension, laughter, and the refusal to take heartbreak too seriously.

Their rise has been anything but ordinary. What began as a YouTube cover project sparked by a mutual obsession with The Strokes has evolved into a global movement. After a fan-funded trip to New York City led to their signing with TAG Music, Pacifica quickly became fixtures of a new alt-rock vanguard, sharing stages with St. Vincent, Kim Gordon, Franz Ferdinand, and Måneskin, and selling out headline shows across North America, Europe, and South America.

“In Your Face! is like watching a friendship in real time,” says Nintzel. “It’s vulnerable and ridiculous and real. We don’t try to hide that, we celebrate it.”

The duo will bring their high-voltage live show to stages across the U.S., Latin America, and Japan this fall, including dates supporting Balu Brigada and two headline nights at Tokyo’s Space Odd in December.
