Namira – Forever

Namira by Amanda Villarosa & Soyoung Kim & Jisun Lee

Namira (Alice Nam), the Korean-American singer-songwriter, DJ, and producer known for viral EDM remixes, announces her arrival as a serious recording artist with her debut single ‘Forever.’

The track marks a bold evolution from her online remix work, showcasing emotive songwriting fused with cross-cultural electronic production.

Known for her electronic reworks of Arctic Monkeys’ “I Wanna Be Yours” feat. Tatsumi and “Apologize” (feat. SimplyRich), Namira has cultivated a following that straddles underground dance music culture and mainstream pop appeal. Drawing comparisons to genre-defying artists like Taeji, Park Hye Jin, and Peggy Gou, she represents a new generation of culturally fluent, genre-fluid female songwriters reshaping electronic music.

‘Forever’ introduces Namira’s distinctive folktronica sound—blending Korean, Spanish, and American folk influences with anthemic electronic production. The track reflects her journey as a global citizen navigating identity, love, and belonging across cultures. In an era of AI-generated pop stars and manufactured personas, NAMIRA emerges as an authentic voice rooted in the singer-songwriter tradition of the 1960s and 70s—a real woman with real stories, bridging Eastern and Western cultures through deeply personal artistry.

“This song led me to rediscover my identity as a Korean American woman and the innocence of wanting to be loved – by a boy, by the industry, by your country,” Namira explains.

With a unique background as a classical pianist, Stanford literature graduate, and former tech executive, Namira represents a new archetype of the modern artist: intellectually rigorous, culturally multilingual, and unapologetically experimental. Her music bridges the gap between intimate storytelling and club-ready production, offering a sound that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant. She stands as a cultural connector, translating lived experiences across continents into a musical language that speaks to both Eastern and Western audiences.

Notably, Namira uses the bridge of ‘Forever’ as an opportunity to interpolate ‘Arirang,’ the Korean folk ballad that united the country against Japanese occupation during WWII. The production features callbacks to Namira’s favorite dancefloor hits from Calvin Harris, Avicii, Black M, Beyoncé, and even The Beatles.

On the cover art, Namira pays homage to the American flag that appeared on the album ‘There’s a Riot Goin’ On’ by the California band Sly and the Family Stone in 1971. In Namira’s artwork, the stars of the American flag are reimagined as the mugunghwa flower, a symbol of eternity in Korean culture for its ability to blossom even in winter.

‘Forever’ arrives as Namira transitions from remix culture to original artistry, establishing herself as a songwriter and producer with a singular vision. The single introduces a new chapter where electronic roots meet bold emotional vulnerability—a combination that positions her alongside the most exciting voices in contemporary electronic and alternative pop.
